I saw this advert for the first time a couple of days ago; Dan and I sat there roaring with laughter. I still don’t have the urge to drink Orangina – I much prefer Appletise given the choice!

In September 2006 (can’t remember the exact date), our eccentric friend, Thor (named after Thor Heyerdahl, a Norwegian adventurer and author of The Kon-Tiki Expedition. BTW if you haven’t read the book yet it is highly recommended if you can still find a copy), invited his family and group of friends to celebrate his 30th birthday in a secret location in Hungary (I say ’secret’, but really to this day I still have no idea where we were).

Batman overshadowed by The Joker?

I enjoyed the movie Batman: The Dark Knight a lot more than I did Will Smith’s Hancock that’s for sure. Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker was insurmountable – prehaps that is why I felt Christian Bale’s Batman lacked the depth of character it had in Batman Begins

However, go see if for yourselves and decide as in my opinion it is well worth seeing on the big screen.

I must say this was the gig I had been waiting for and it most certainly didn’t disappoint! I’d never been to the Roundhouse in Camden before and was most impressed by the venue, but even more impressed by the classical guitar geniuses that are Rodrigo Y Gabriela.

After sinking a pint in the beer garden with Seth, Cat and Helen we joined the crowds for some up-lifting, fast, rhythmic guitar action. If you have never heard any of their tracks before, here’s a taster…

I made this apple & forest fruit crumble for dessert tonight. As I didn’t have any cinnamon so sprinkled the fruit with ground ginger instead. Delicious served with vanilla ice-cream.
